Welcome to my home! Since none of you can actually come to my house out in the boonies I thought I would video tape it. My mother has been dying to see what the place looks like! Sorry I had to break it up into 3 pieces... Oh yeah and sorry that it satrts with video from Christmas!

Depression or Laziness??

So I've been wondering, am I depressed or just lazy? Am I homesick or just lonely? I need someone to diagnose me and find some pills to cure me!! I go to bed every night with resolutions for the next day. I make plans to work out, eat healthy, have fun with the kids, clean the house, do some crafting.... basically everything that I know makes me feel happy and healthy. Then I wake up and the couch and remote call to me. They are like a drug. I sit all day watching random tv shows and movies, eating everything unhealthy in the house while dwelling on everything that I hate about me new life. I end up in a bad mood which makes everyone else unhappy, cuz we all know "if mama aint happy, no one is happy"!!
So what is my deal? why oh why can't I stick to my resolutions? I know that I will be happier if I just do even HALF of the things on my list! So WHY?? Is it depression or laziness?? Hopefully I'll figure it out soon before I end up 50 lbs heavier and stuck in the couch cushions!!
I guess I may as well do 1 thing on my list today... update my blog!!

Moving

So this past month has been CRAZY!! Moving as a single parent is extremely difficult! Over these past few weeks I have packed our whole apartment and cleaned it, done TONS of hair appointments, and tried to maintain my sanity in the process. The girls are definately having a hard time with the change. We are at my parents house while in transition and they love it here. They will totally miss Oma and Poppi!
Josh and Danielle get in tonight and we are going to take the next 5 days to enjoy what Seattle has to offer and then Thursday we head on down to our destination. Wellton, AZ. Yep you've probably never heard of such a place until now huh? But that's where we will be living for the next year or so. It's a big change. I'm trying to be excited about it but it's more stress than excitement at this point.

So here is where Wellton is located. It is about 30 minutes to Yuma, 3 hrs from Phoenix and 3 hrs from San Diego. Very Very small town.

This is the house we will be renting. We are on a golf course luckily so I will get to see green everyday! ha ha

K since I got into Facebook I just don't get around to posting on my blog. I need to do better!! So here are the updates...
Jalie is 1! Holy Cow I still can't believe it!! She is such a funny girl. TONS of personality! She makes me laugh everyday and I'm extremely grateful for that! She had fun letting sister open all her presents...

Since Jalie just turned 1 and Kenzie turns 3 next weekend we had an old friend take some pictures of the girls. I love how the pictures turned out! Aren't my daughters beautiful?? I think so at least!

JT graduated the BP academy!! He's so awesome! He even won 2 awards...one for best marksmen and one for best driver! I'm so proud of him. Now he is learning Spanish 8 hours a day... and I can NOT wait till it's all over! I miss him soooo much!
Moving plans are under way now. We are looking at some places for rent and the moving truck is all reserved. I can't believe it's really happening! EEK!I better pack a few more boxes today!

Flower Headband

My cousin was wearing a really cute headband on Christmas and so I had to get a closer look and make one for myself! They are pretty easy to make so I thought after making a couple that I would make a tutorial.

You need strips of fabric measuring approx. 1.5" wide. I bought this package of Moda Bakeshop and they have worked amazingly!! I can't tell you a length because I honestly don't know. The bigger the flower the longer the strip. Hope that makes since!!

Press fabric in half lengthwise and tie a knot in the end
Twist fabric around knot using dots of hot glue to secure as you go. (you don't need a lot of glue it will make it too heavy)

When you are happy with the size simply cut the fabric and glue the tail end under

Make a cluster of about 5 in random sizes and complimenting colors and glue together Use hot glue to attach to the side of a cheap headband. I like these skinny one's the best because they are easier on the back of my ears and easier to hide in my hair.

I need to get more headbands for these but i like how they turned out!

Don't forget to check on your children...you never know what kind of mischief they are getting into when your crafting right??

K so I totally thought that with JT gone I would have lots of time to Blog and let everyone (including him) know how things were going! HA HA HA Yeah I'll go ahead and laugh at myself because I'm so busy I just can't seem to find the time these days! My list of things to do is about 10 miles too long and I just do the best I can and try to find time to have fun along the way!
My friends have been WONDERFUL!! I have had tons of invitations to hang out and have had lots of friends come over just to visit!! It is exactly what the doctor ordered!! I'm so lucky to have my friends and my family! Such a huge help to me! My Dad has turned out to be a great babysitter and always willing to help out. My Mom and I went to the So You Think You Can Dance performance for our birthday in November and had a blast!! I had sooo much fun having a night on the town!
The girls are growing up so fast... Kenz is getting better and better with using sentences instead of phrases and has mastered the art of talking back! With Daddy gone she definatley knows how to test my limits but she is sooo much fun to play with and incredibly smart! Jalie is practically running now! It is so cute because she went from baby to toddler overnight!! She has two little teeth and LOVES LOVES LOVES to eat!! She will eat anything and screams until you feed her!! Funny girl!! She is getting into everything and is determined to pull my curtains off the wall!!

Kenzie is going to be a hairdresser like her mommy... here she did her own hair with my headband...Here she did Jalie's hair with mommy's lotion... (Jalie didn't mind one bit but mommy did!)
and just days later she did Jalie's hair with toothpaste!! I guess its time to put my scissors in a locked cupboard!! I'm afraid of what will happen next!

Jalie is an even bigger dare devil than her big sis! She climbs on everything! And don't you love the upside-down binky?? she won't leave it right-side up anymore!

I don't have ANY clue how she did this one!! ha ha
It's amazing how one chocolate cookie can give 15 minutes of quiet... which seems worth it at the time... but then you have to start a bath. Was it really worth it?? YES!!

Saying Goodbye

Saying goodbye to JT on Saturday was SOOOO hard!! But we got through it and we are doing okay! Staying busy as usual and having fun! We are hoping to get to see him for the holidays, but if not we won't see him until April and April is VERY far away!!

So Jalie took her first steps around 8 months old. Since then she has only taken one or maybe two steps at a time. Then she got ahold of Kenzie's baby stroller and used it as a walker. Then Sunday she took about 7 steps in a row! Crazy girl is only 9 months old!! All week long she's been trying so hard to walk around but keeps falling! SO CUTE!! Of course by the time we got the video camera out we could only get 3 steps out of her but it's still adorable!!

Big CHANGES!!

So JT finally got his offical offer from Boarder Patrol. He reports to his station on Nov 9th. Yuma, AZ. From there he will go to the academy in New Mexico for approximately 5 months. After that I will take the girls and move on down to Yuma where we will live for the next few years!

This has been a crazy couple of years for us! Our adventures started with the Maricopa County (phoenix) Sherrifs department, JT went through the whole hiring process with them right after we were married. When they offered him a job, he turned it down to move to Washington with his prego wife. He tried for about a year and a half to get onto any police departments here in the Seattle area. He was then hired by the King County Sheriffs Department and endured a 6 month long Law Enforcement Academy. Unfortunately JT failed a test and was let go. He then started with King County Corrections 2 months later... endured another Academy (3 months with corrections) and has stayed with that job for a year now. After the Sheriffs dept had let him go JT had applied with the US Boarder Patrol. It took almost a year and a half of hiring process till they offerd him this position.

It has been a roller coaster over the last few years and so I have been VERY reluctant to have JT accept this position. We are finally stable where we are now. I am comfortable and happy where we are now. I just have to have faith that this is the best thing for our future.

Thanks for all the prayers and encouragement! We will miss all of our friends and family here in Washington GREATLY!!! It's sooooo hard to leave!

My blog should be updated almost daily once JT leaves. Sorry if it will be boring to everyone else (you don't HAVE to read it) but it will be the best way for him to get updates from us everyday! This is our new "Adventure" I'm truely scared and excited!

It's approx 2 1/2 hours to San Diego, 3 1/2 hours to Mesa, 4 1/2 hours to Benson and minutes from Mexico. We'd better get our passports!!

Vacation here we come!! So in approximately 23 hours we are headed out on our 16 day vacation! I'm stressed out and totally excited! Trying to get everything ready has been crazy! My house looks like a tornado came through... HONESTLY!! Tonight (well tomorrow night?) we are heading over to Idaho Falls to see my sister for a couple days... then we will head on down to AZ to see all of JT's family and our friends for a couple weeks, then it's back on up through Idaho Falls and back home! It will be interesting to go from chilly weather to really cold to HOT and back again! I have had a VERY hard time packing!! ANyways if you are part of our friends and family in Idaho or AZ and want to see us.... we'd love to see you so give us a call!! We will see you all soon!!

On Labor Day we took Kenzie and Jalie to the Ringling Bros and Barnamum Baliey circus. We had so much FUN! Kenz LOVED it! She talked about the Elephants for days!Kenzie has been getting better and better about playing with her baby sister. She still has her not-so-nice days but fewer all the time.

Here she is today... what a ham!

Kenz LOVES to dress up. This poor hat from the dollar section at target has seen better days! My mom got her these boots as a joke and she has to wear them around the house. Oh yeah and you gotta love the empty winnie the pooh back pack she wears while pushing the doll stroller around the living room!!

On Tuesday we went out and bought a minivan! It was quite the experience! I now officially feel like a MOM! I LOVE IT! I love love love my nice van! Its a 2004 Mercury Monterey. It has all the nice automatic features I wanted and leather seats. I am so happy with it! Now we are all set for our road trip in a week and a half!

Computer Virus!!

So our computer had a BAD virus... or a few BAD viruses... so sorry for not posting for a whole month! Thanks to my awesome hubby its fixed now and I was so happy to finally catch up on everyone elses blogs after so long! So here is the last month in pics! Alittle out of order...???

Jalie Update: This kid is a dare devil! She needs a NO Fear T-shirt! At 7 months old she is crawling, pulling her self up onto everything, eating cherrios and puffs on her own, and trying to walk. She is also the biggest ham you've ever met! If she sees a camera she smiles big! ha ha such a funny girl! and getting too big too fast!

Kenzie Update: Terrible Two's anyone?? She is the funniest little kid, so smart and so full of energy! She loves her Abc's, all songs and the show Calliou. She hates taking naps and is always grumpy between 6-8 when she doesn't take one. I'm taking her to the circus on saturday and she is so excited to see "simba"?? For some reason she thinks he's gonna be there! ha ha This is her after she wouldn't take a nap, she fell asleep in her chair watching tv!

K so most moms of toddlers know that "if it's not one thing it's another" right?? Well story of my life today!!

My mom and I took the girls with us to Joanne's last week and Kenz all of a sudden had a handfull of her hair. I didn't know what happened and thought maybe it had gotten stuck on the cart or something, but it was wierd that she didn't act hurt at all. I forgot about it a couple days later and then Tuesday morning after her bath I started combing her hair and a huge chunk just came out. No tears nothing. She has a good sized bald spot on top of her head. I FREAKED out! I was shaking and crying and could barely finish combing her hair. I just got done with cosmetology school about a year ago so I know all the different hair conditions so of course I think worst case senerio first! I call the doctor and schedule her appointment right away. Her appointment was this afternoon and the doc says he thinks it's just a weakening of the hair follicle due to a previous illness and that it will get better. It might get worse first though. I'm still kinda freaking out about it but I think it will be okay!! I couldn't bear the thought of Kenz loosing all her beautiful shiny hair!!

So we decided since Jalie turned 6 months today (scarry huh?) that we would go ahead and get her well baby check when we took Kenz to the doc. So not only do I have to bring both girls by myself they give Jalie like 5 vaccines! Poor baby!

We leave the doctors office and head strait over to my friend Sarah's house to visit and cut her hair. Her son and Kenz are friends and since it's such a beautiful day we head outside to play. She doesn't see the steps on the porch and falls on her face on the concrete! Blood is flowing everywhere and I just loose it. I freaked out! I asked sarah, "do I call 911 for an ambulance or do I just take her to the ER??" she knew I was overreacting and totally helped me through it! She is gonna be fine but she busted up her lip really bad. Its cut on the inside and out. Poor girl!! I asked her to let mommy take a pic of her owie and this is the face she gave me! ha ha

Jalie is all doped up on tylenol and has been so fussy this afternoon that she didn't get a nap. I was doing my friend's hair and just put her in her walker in front of the tv. She finally quieted down and so i just assumed she was happy watching the tv. I look over and this is what I see!

She was dead alseep!! Could she be any cuter??? seriously! And she was MAD when I picked her up and put her in her crib. Should have just left her!

Camping

Jt and I went camping with the girls for just one night. It was a lot of fun! We love being outdoors and just escaping life!

Kenz wanted to "drive" the whole time we were there! She loves to be a big girl!

Okay so I haven't blogged in like 2 weeks. Our computer has a number of viruses and I just don't even want to bother with it these days! Plus I really haven't had much to blog about. My routine these days has been Get up, go to gym, shower and clean house, have hair appointments into afternoon, run errands, then pretty much crash for the night if there isn't some other various activity in the evening going on. Sounds fun huh? Well all the hair appointments have been nice and I went to the American Idol concert on Tuesday with my mom. We had soooo much fun!! I know that's a bit dorky to some, but I love Idol and it was a blast!!

Kinda scarry how much I resemble my mom huh? Matching black shirts and blonde hair?!

My favorite number of the night, PYT by Danny Gokey. He got the whole audience into it and it was a blast!!

Of course Allison and Adam put on a rockin show!

I LOVE CHRIS ALLEN!!

It was a fun concert and totally worth the money even though we were in the nose-bleeds!!

Camping

We went camping with some familys in our ward... such a blast!

Thursday afternoon we arrived and hung out with two families, the Proudlocks and Renos
Friday morning JT joined us and the rest of the families. We had fun playing in the field and just playin around.

Kenzie got bit by a wasp! her face actually swelled up even worse than this before it got better. Poor girl! She was super good though!

Our friends the Bresnahan's have a zoo membership this year and since they are so awesome they brought us as guests! We had a blast!

K I love love love how this simple dress turned out! my mom gave me another shirt that she didn't wear anymore and I made it into a very simple tank dress for kenz. Then I used this tutorial to add some fun roses to it. I think it turned out great!

Okay I finished the other dresser for the girl's room. It turned out super cute! It was a cream color with gold trim before. It was pretty ugly. Now it totally fits the room!

Kenzie has been treating all her baby dolls and stuffed animals like real babies lately. It so cute. She changes the diapers and swaddles them and rocks them to sleep.

Projects

I refinished a free dresser... it's not quite done yet, I need to get more pink for the bottom. Kenz loves the ABC's. It looks really good in their room so far. Now I need to do the other dresser and hutch to match somehow...???

I have been using our dining room table for all my sewing projects. I never put the stuff away because I'm always working on something. Well it just looked so junky so I put it in our bedroom. We never used it to eat on anyways...so now our dining area is where all the baby stuff goes. Now our living room looks much less cluttered!!

Jalie's first outfit made by mommy! Its so cute on her... and still alittle big so hopefully it will last through the summer. The only reason I haven't made much for her is cuz i know she'll grow out of it fast and she has sooo many hand-me-downs from Kenz....it's not because I don't love her!! ha ha I was feeling guilty for only making Kenz dresses!

I made my grandma an apron in home ec class in jr high. She uses it all the time and it's sooo ugly! So her birthday is this month and I made her a new one! It turned out so pretty. Completely reversable. I hope she likes it! Here's the online tutorial I used.

We went to Lake Tapps on Wednesday with our friends the Bresnahans. It was stinkin hot out but we had fun. JT needs to learn how to put sun screen on more evenly! ha ha we had a good time!

First Hike

My mom got great deals on two hiking packs for the girls to ride in. She got one for $17 and the other for $6. They are origionally $170 and $180. So we decided to try them out on Tuesday. We went to cedar river and it was more of a walk than a hike but at least we got to enjoy the sun and the beautiful river. I'm really going to miss the green of washington... how can you not love it???

We love to play! I am soooo glad that the weather is finally nice! it's been in the 70's and we are loving it! I haven't sewn much and my house is a disaster area because all we've done is hang out outside for the last few days! Last Thursday I went with a friend to Les Grove park and Kenz did everything to avoid the water while I sat with the baby and got my back FRIED!! I'm still hurting! Then on Friday we stayed inside and took naps after my procedure (which was no big deal!) On Saturday we went out to Leavenworth and spent the day playing in the pool (Kenzie HATED the water and Jalie LOVED it!) at the resort and walking around downtown Leavenworth enjoying all the cool shops with Kerianne and Ethan! Then on Sunday after JT and I talked in Sacrament (I did horrible by the way!) we went to my parents house for a bbq and we sat outside for hours! My dad filled up the kiddie pool and it took Kenz like an hour or more to warm up to getting in. She will hopefully get over this fear of new water experiences soon so we can enjoy our summer! I hope you don't get too bored of all the pics. I took like almost a hundred this weekend so it's hard to narrow it down to my favs!

I'm lovin this one... I love the green eyelet fabric. So pretty!

I finally fixed this one... shortened the top

This is one I made from a garage sale shirt.... simple but cute on her!
I made this dress fully reversable. I really love how it turned out and since it's my own creation I think I might even make a tutorial if I get around to it!!

I loved this pattern and I love these fabrics.... however I'm really really hating the dress! The combination of everything was a failure. It looks like a baby mumu!! I still made her wear it as you can see in previous pictures... I'm thinking about taking the green fabric off and trying something different to see if that would help??

Boarder Patrol Update: We got a message on our phone basically stating that we would hear something aprox 60 days after we recieved our letter. He said we should be hearing from them in July to recieve our location. So it's nice to not be wondering and waiting everyday for a call. It is also nice to know that we have at least MOST of our summer together! Camping here we come!!

Okay so I have quite a bit to blog about... sewing projects, jalie's personality, Kenzie's attitude, fun in the sun, and border patrol job. Yeah it's alot I know. Just skip through and read what parts interest you!!
First off is SEWING! My new hobby that I love love love! I made this adorable dress for kenz... it's alittle bit too big but I can't wait for her to wear it! So summery and fun! The top was made out of a dress shirt and I used the cuffs for straps.

Second I made a car seat cover for Jalie to keep the sun, rain and (when we go camping) campfire smoke off of her. I love how it turned out! Pink John Deere!

Alright 2nd is Jalie's Personality.... She stinkin cracks me up! This girl will smile at anything. And give you the "your crazy" look at the drop of a hat! I was having soooo much fun taking pictures of her fresh out of a nap on Sunday afternoon. Here are some of my favorite funny faces. Hopefully you will understand why I love this little one sooooo much! She is certainly a character!
3rd... Kenzie's attitude. Okay I love Kenzie so much, but I HATE the terrible two's!! We have had some HARD days lately! Note the scab on Jalie's cheek above. This was merely hours before the next two scratches appeared on her forehead. Not only is she being mean to her sister, she ignores everything I have to say and yells and screams if she doesn't get her way. She is still hitting other kids no matter what the punishment or reward. She gets up repeatedly from her bed and when I put her back in her crib she cried so hard she threw up. Its a battle every night. On the good side... she is smart. She knows her ABC's and counts to 10 all the time. She makes me laugh and smile every day. She is my biggest joy and also my hugest frusteration. Last night we had to call poison control because she took my non-drowsy sudafed pe at 9 o'clock at night. She ate at least 1 but there were 8 missing total so I have no idea how many she got. She was running around the house like a crazy person till 1030 then she fell into bed and crashed! We had to get up every 20 minutes to an hour to check on her. Of course Jalie only woke up once the whole night.... would have been nice to get some sleep!

This is her yesterday morning after getting in to "mommy's stick" as she calls it. She was soooo proud of herself and kept saying "pretty huh mommy?" ha ha had to laugh!!

4... Fun in the Sun. It was bright and sunny on Sunday. So after naptime I got the girls out of their church dresses and into some cute summer clothes. Kenz loved playing with her bubbles. I just enjoyed getting outside and leaving my window open!
Okay now for the major news... Border Patrol Job. JT's dream job is to work for the Border Patrol. He applied last August when he was in between jobs. He went through the hiring process and then we didn't hear anything for about 6 months or more. We have gotten settled with his new job with King County Corrections. Then Sunday evening I went to get the mail (from Sat) and I found a letter from the Dept of Homeland Security. It basically says that JT will soon be getting a phone call to give him a firm offer of employment with an on duty date. They said to get ready because he will be attending the academy shortly. "Shortly" and "Soon" being the key words here. So I was really upset. I didn't want to give up the job security we have now and our comfortable life here for another academy. I was sooo scared and we talked until the wee hours of the next morning about why we shouldn't take the job when they call. We agreed to pray about it and see what would happen. Within 24 hours I no longer could see all the negatives I had on my list and my positives list started growing and growing. We are now excited and nervous to recieve a call. It is JT's dream job and I am excited for him. The academy is 19 weeks long and I would stay in Washington while he's there. It will be a LONG 4 months away from him. Then it's off to where he'll be stationed somewhere along the border. This is a very scary thing for me but we are young and ready to take the jump. Let's hope we land on our feet!!!

I've been super busy this past week! JT has been working tons of overtime and I felt like a single mom and so on his last two days off we tried to spend some time together. Here are some pics from our past week...

Kenz had her face painted for the first time at a carnival at my mom's school. She thought it was sooo fun to have a butterfly on her cheek!
On mother's day we went to my grandmother's house for dinner and Kenz had soooo much fun playing with my cousin Taylor. They are so cute!

So I made two more dresses. I made one out of an old t-shirt of mine. I thought I could make something cute for her...however my idea didn't turn out so well... It's pretty ugly but it's my first time I did pleating and used a zipper. So go me I'm learning new things! Kenz clearly loved it... it's way to big on top! does NOT fit well at all!

This is a CUTE dress I made out of an old fitted button-down I had in my DI pile. I love love love how this turned out. It looks so cute on her. I got the idea from this tutorial... super easy!

Okay so I couldn't come up with a good title because this post is going to be totally random but these are the blessings of my life over the past few days!

Today Kenzie hurt herself playing in her room... I don't know what exactly happened but she busted her ear pretty good. I tried to put a bandaid on it and she hated it, but like the good mom I am I bribed her with candy and she kept it on all evening! She went and found the "George stickers" and put one on her baby sisters ear! It was pretty cute to have them matching all evening! Poor baby!

My mom is addicted to garage sale-ing. She is a total pro. She got some great deals for me this weekend since I couldn't go along. She found me an eddie bauer double stroller for $25, a bunch of clothes and a couple pairs of shoes for Kenz and THIS>>> a vintage strait out of the 70's singer sewing machine.... how much you ask??? $5!! Yes only 5 bucks for this beauty! The person selling it thought it had a broken knob, but she was wrong. This baby runs like a champ!

This is my first completed project with my new machine. I hope this little top will look cute with her new jean shorts!

Thursday and Friday were spent organizing and cleaning Kenzie's room to move Jalie in. I liked the project but it definately wore me out! Here are a few of the pics... I still have a few things to put up on the walls but it's getting sooo cute! I finally finished my bird mobile... you can see it hanging over the crib under the leaf. I'll post close ups later!

So I have tons of projects now and NO sewing machine. They said it will take 7-10 days to repair my mother's machine! I need a machine to feed my addiction to sewing! It's bad I know. I looked at both the thrift stores in the area. Nothing. I looked at prices for a new one and I can't afford $300 right now. I looked on craigslist and they pretty much have antiques and that's it. I don't know where to get a sewing machine around $40! I need one bad!

I've been seriously sick the past two days so all I've done is sit around and sew. I was having so much fun with this last dress and was just finishing the hem when... Kenz decided to feed some of her hot dog to Jalie. I paniked! I jumped up from the sewing machine and ran to rescue my child. Jalie was all smiles and thought it was halarious... kenzie was screaming in time out and the machine was on the floor. My mom's machine. Devistating! Yes it's broken. I'll take it to the sears repair shop tomorrow and find out how much it will cost to repair. In the mean time I have no sewing machine and I can't even start saving for my own machine now because I have to fix this one first. Poop!

Last week we finally got a chance to see our friends the Bresnahan's. We used to see them more often but since Jalie and Rylan have been here it's been too crazy. Too Big Too Fast!

Today we went and got Kenzie's new big-girl bed. Jalie is too big for the basinet now so it is time to pass the crib on to her. After we bought the new mattress I honestly started crying. JT thought I was crazy but it makes me sooo sad to think about how fast the time passes. Kenzie was our little baby and now she's this big girl with a baby sister and big girl bed. I'm also not sure I'm ready for Jalie to be in a crib yet! Anyways I'm not crazy... just sad that my girls are growing up and I can't stop it!

Jalie is growing up too fast! I hate that she is already 3 months old! Little stinker! She can already roll on to her side. She did this the other day when I wasn't looking!

Kenzie has been wearing her dresses! Today was so beautiful we used half a gallon of bubbles with her friends!

I made this dress this afternoon. My sis and I love this fabric and so I got some today with my 50% off coupon and made this dress in about 1 hour! Love love love it and still have fabric left over to make myself something!

So the dress I stayed up till midnight last night making (the reversable one)was waaayyy to big for Kenz when I tried it on her this morning. So I decided to take her measurements and write them down. NO MORE GUESSING! Maybe it will shrink when we wash it... otherwise we'll have to find a bigger girl to give it away to! SOOO of course I got started right away on one that would be alittle bit more fitting. I had to use different fabric on one side but I think it turned out really cute!

Ok I'm obsessed... I've already admitted it. But we were at Costco today and my mom and I found this really cute dress that we both loved. It was $12.50. I told my her I could totally make one... so I did. It's pretty close and I think this one cost me around 1-2 dollars!! I used less than 1 yard of fabric and I got the fabric on clearance!! It took me abour 3 hours to make start to finish!! So I'm pretty proud of myself.
Now I just have to decide what she's going to show off at church tomorrow!! Or should I say today since it's almost 1 am now!! Good night all!

While my Father-in-Law was in town I had him help me refinish my salon furniture. It looks sooo nice! I feel totally professional now... except the whole washing hair in the sink thing!I love dressing the girls in cute outfits! Most of the clothes that Jalie is starting to fit into is for warmer weather so I put her in a skirt and found this sweet sweater to make it work for our crazy cold weather we've been having!Oh yeah and fuzzy pink socks make the outfit!

It's been 10 weeks since I had Jalie. I have only lost 15 lbs (she was 7.1). I need to loose 35 lbs to get where I want. I started dieting and working out yesterday. So here I am... 160 and hating it. Hopefully I'll have my "after" pic up within 6 months!!

One of the only things we did this week while my inlaws have been in town is go to the Seattle Children's Museum. I have been collecting curious george things since I was about 11 years old and Kenzie now loves george too; so when we heard they were doing a "Let's get curious" exhibit I decided we should check it out. We had soo much fun! There is just so much to do and Kenzie is just about the perfect age for it. She was hesitant at first but then she was running around looking at everything! Sooo cute! Busy Day!!

So today has been very busy so far! We took Jalie to her 2 month appt and she got 3 shots. Then we went to the mall and got her ears pierced. After that we let Kenz play in the kid area while I fed Jalie. We hit McDonald's for lunch on our way to Best Buy where we got a NEW camera!!! We just got home and I've taken a few pics with the new camera! It's soooo much nicer than my old one.... I've had that thing for like 4 years! This is it... Canon A1000is. It's 10 mega pixels and has 4x optical zoom.

And this is my old camera... it was only 4.0 mega pixels and no optical zoom... it was horrible!! Too old!My first picture on the way home from the store! Can you tell I was excited??

Some of you might think I'm the meanest mom in the world because I got my child's ears pierced the day that she got her immunizations but she was already doped up on Tylenol and we think it's better to just get it all over with as quick as possible. She only cried for like 30 seconds and has been a happy baby the rest of the afternoon. Just alittle more tired than normal.

So Jalie's weight is in the 22nd percentile and her height is in the 54th and her head is only at 29th! So she is skinnier by far than kenzie was at this age but at least she is growing! The doctor predicts that she will be about 5'8''. Taller than her mommy!!

Jalie started smiling this past week! It's sooo much fun! They are real smiles too not just gas! So I tried my best to get some pics of her last night. I caught a few of her cute little smiles but my camera is such a piece of c**p that the color and lighting are really bad! My favorite is when she scrunches up her little nose with a big smile! sooo cute!

I swear... I'll make it through these terrible two's as long as she finds the time to laugh! I love love love her laugh! I keep getting so frusterated with her and then I get frusterated with myself because I feel like her behavior is a result of my parenting. She keeps going in time out and getting long talks and it never seems to change anything. But we're trying.

Then she laughs. Something so simple as a sticker makes her giggle. We take turns sticking the sticker on eachother and she thinks it's halarious and I realise I can do this. I'm a good mom. I just need to remember these sweet times when she's laughing and I'll get through it. Hopefully we can laugh every day! I love that girl!!

It's gone by sooo fast!! These are some pics my sister took while we were in Idaho. Jalie had just turned one month old. I can't believe how much our lives have changed over these last 5 weeks but we love it! She is such a sweet baby. Just look at her!

So tomorrow is Kenzie's 2nd Birthday. We had her party last night and it was sooo much fun! She loved having all of her friends over and playing with bubbles, eating cake and opening presents! Jt and I went out on our Valentines date last night... yeah a few days early but JT only has tuesday and wednesday nights off and I'll be headed to Idaho this weekend. It was our first time out since having Jalie. Some really good friends took the girls and we went to one of our favorite resturaunts... Azteca! Yum! I'm one lucky girl! My hubby is the best!

Kenzie loves to get into my makeup. JT found her with my eyeliner and I was suprised to see that she knew where to put it! Maybe she'll grow up to be a makeup artist??

Okay I have to brag for a minute... Kenzie is soooo smart! She is already learning her letters and numbers. She can point to the correct letters on the fridge if you ask her to find like an M or L... she knows almost all of them! It's amazing to me how much she has learned already. I can't believe she will be two in one week!

Monkey Hair!

So my sweet little girl already has a couple nicknames...Monkey Hair, Baby Sister and Jalie Balie. Poor baby got my hair. It sticks strait up and won't lay down just like my mom says mine did when I was an infant. It's really funny.... not too attractive for a baby unfortunately. Kenzie can't say Jalie so she just calls her baby sister and Jt and I came up with Jalie Balie somehow and it just stuck.

Kenzie is getting really good with Jalie. She is very helpful and has only hurt her once in the last few days. I think she is starting to understand how to be soft... thank goodness! She is being a total butt about taking pictures though... all the ones i've taken this week are horrible!

Seriously, how can you resist this sweet face?? I love how she always rests her head on her fist... so cute!

The Bouncy Place

So we took Kenzie to The Bouncy Place here in Kent on Tuesday. She LOVED it! Then our friends wanted to try it out with their kids so we went again on Wednesday. Luckily my friend Danni had her camera and got these great pics! We had so much fun I think we'll try to take her once a week. It's good activity for her and only 5 bucks for a whole hour. I really shouln't have gone down the slides with her while i'm still trying to recover but it was too much fun!

YEAH!! It finally fell off... that nasty piece of rotting flesh is gone! It smelled and was always in the way... yes I am talking about the baby's umbilical cord! It was sooo stinky and like hangin by a thread yesterday and finally last night it was gone! I freaked out until we found it... it was stuck to her blanket... then I made JT take care of it. I don't know why it grosses me out soooo bad but I'm happy to see it go!!

Everyone's been saying how different Jalie looks from Kenzie but I keep having flashbacks because over the last few days I keep seeing Kenzie 2 years ago! I guess we just make cute babies!! ha ha

So when we brought Jalie home from the hospital on Saturday Kenzie came home with a cold. She had a runny nose and we did all we could to try to keep Jalie safe. Well, of course, Jalie now has her first cold. Her nose keeps running and she sneezes all the time but she is eating good and isn't too fussy. I hope and pray that we can get through this cold without too much stress!

I love being a mom! It's so fun to have both of these little girls! I had the baby blues for a couple of days but today I'm happy and sooo greatful to have such beautiful daughters. Kenzie is such a joy and learning things so quickly. I know she is jealous of her new sister and I hate punishing her when she acts out because i know she just needs the attention. I love cuddling little Jalie. She can't talk back or hit yet so it's so peaceful, yet she doesn't make me laugh like Kenz! I truely am greatful for my girls today. I still haven't gotten dressed for the day and it's 1pm, but I know eventually i'll get used to all the work that comes with having 2 kids! At least they both got baths, clean clothes and fed... now are both napping! It's a good day!

Thanks to my friend Danni you were all able to see pics of Jalie the day she arrived! I knew it would take me a few days to get on here and get things posted. Everything went great at the hospital and I'm happy to say that I am recovering fast and starting to feel like my old self again! Except for the fact that I feel like I have watermelons shoved under my chest this morning... but I know that will get better with time! Here are some of the pictures from our camera... which is a crappy crappy digital. The color is horrible but at least you get the idea!

No, no baby yet. She is being a procrastinator just like her mother. Little Jalie keeps causing her mother pain but hasn't decided to come into this world yet! If she doesn't come today or tomorrow my midwife is going to try to enduce me on thursday! Thank goodness!! I'm glad to see the end in sight! I've had numb legs and stabbing pain in my back and lower abdomen for over a week now. I'm ready to be done with this pregnancy! Wish me luck and hopefully by Saturday we will have pics up of our new little girl!

Our Christmas...

We had a lovely Christmas. We were sad that we couldn't be with more family but we had a good time and got spoiled rotten! Kenzie loved opening everyone's presents! Oma made her piggy pj's and she loved them! Her favorite present was probably her new vaccuum which she used with daddy this morning!
Jalie wanted to make sure we didn't forget about her this Christmas. She started giving me contractions Christmas night. They didn't go away for almost 24 hours! But no labor yet... just lots of fun pain until she's ready to come!
JT finished the corrections academy and has 5 days left of his field training. On the 4th he will offically be on his own as a corrections officer! We are so proud of him... plus he looks really good in his uniform!! We are just hoping for a position that is at the jail 2 minutes away rather than 40 min in seattle!

Stupid Snow!!

I remember wishing for snow as a child. I would pray that there would be enough snow to cancel school and have a white christmas. Now that I am out of school I wish snow didn't even exsist!! Last night JT had to work in Seattle. He had to park on the street because the parking garage was blocked with snow. He got home around 1130 last night and parked in our garage. This morning when we were getting into the car to go get some groceries I noticed that the side of our car had been smashed in! Yeah we were alittle upset! Someone must have hit him and just left! now our nice car looks like crap and we have a $500 deductable! but we are counting our blessings because it is still drivable. It is getting us through these horrible driving conditions. I love our subaru!! hopefully we can afford to get it fixed soon! Now we are hoping and praying for rain to clear the roads to our christmas destinations! I hope everyone else is safe around here!

December storms

So the weather is crazy this year!! For those of you who haven't lived in Washington most of your life maybe you don't realize that we aren't used to snow like this! We have been getting snow every couple days and then it's not melting cuz it's freaking cold!! The driving is terrible and so we just stay home. I'm getting alittle stir crazy though!! This is our car in our parking lot at 830 this morning!

So here is Kenzie in her tutu I made her for christmas... i don't know if I'm going to still wrap it up and put it under the tree or not cuz she had to try it on!

Uncle Kellan had surgery on his sholder last week and is having a hard time playing his computer games. It's a good thing Kenzie loves to help! (the mouse on her side isn't connected) But he gives her high fives whenever they do good! Such an awesome uncle!

So my mom wanted to go to sears and get professional pics of Kenzie taken this year... however, Kenzie did NOT want to cooperate! She is not one to smile when asked! So my friend Danni came over today and we took pics of her in front of our tree. I think some of them turned out really good! They definately show her personality!
We are sooo excited for Christmas this year. We love the family time and the focus on Christ and giving. Tonight JT is going with his class to play bingo at an oldfolks home, tomorrow we are going to the ward chirstmas party and on Saturday we are spending time with Kerianne and Ethan... Kenzie is sooo excited to see them! I'm getting ready to do some holiday baking even though my doctor told me that I need to watch how much sugar I eat! Ha ha really? Does she really think she can get a prego woman to say no to sweets around the holidays?? ha ha I'll try to be good but i'm not making any promises!!

Vacation Part 1

So we are about 3/4 through our vacation... I don't want it to end! We are having so much fun with family and friends! The thanksgiving turkey is in the oven and the christmas presents are being wrapped! Tonight we will celebrate the holidays with the Judd side of the family... (the pecan pies are smelling good!)

Grumpy or "Dumpy" as Kenzie says...brought over his dump truck from work today and Kenzie was terrified of it... she was only okay if daddy was holding her! So cute!

Jazz is home from her mission and we had so much fun hanging out with her this past week! Kenzie and I are sure going to miss her when we go back home!

Sick Baby!!

So we are in Az and ever since we got here it seems like our health is failing us! Kenzie started coughing more and I lost part of my mucous plug and started cramping.... scarry considering I'm only 29 weeks prego! Anyways so we got that under control with hydration and rest but Kenzie kept getting worse. She doesn't even want to play... I checked her temp last night and it was over 103. Very scarry for me! She is 21 months old and this is by far the sickest she's ever been! I don't like it! We have been giving her tylenol and it brings it down to 99 so we just keep giving her more every 4 hours. I hope she gets better soon! It's no fun to be on vacation when you don't feel good!

So Kenzie is sick sick sick. I hate to see her suffer! Her little nose is raw from wiping it and her eyes are swollen and infected. I wish I could take away her pain!! Although now I am sick too... I don't know how to keep everything clean enough when there are germs spreading everywhere!! Hopefully things will get better soon!! At least she is still smiling!!

So here is our little Jalie! Only 15 more weeks or so till she will be out in this world and look how cute she is already!! Some of the pics look funny becuase of the position she was in. She has her hand on her right cheek and the eyes wouldn't show on some so we just see the eye sockets. Alittle freaky but look at those cheeks!! And her little chin! Adorable!! I can't wait to see her get bigger!

Our Home!!

So we are finally in our new place! We love it! There are still some boxes to go through but for the most part the house is all set up! It took alot of work with Kenzie always one step behind me destroying everything in sight!! So here is the tour for those of you who won't be able to see it for yourself!

Border Patrol???

So here's the update on "Where the heck are the Judd's going to end up??"
We are moving in 2 days into an apartment in Kent. JT starts his job with King County Corrections tomorrow. Today, however is his oral board interview with the US Border Patrol. This morning we went to the orientation and found out some interesting facts. We won't know for at least 4 more months if he gets hired or not. If he is hired then we will know where his first two years will be spent... either texas, new mexico, AZ, or California. However he will be in the academy in new mexico for at least the first 4 months. It is farther from his parents house then we originally thought which means that I may stay here in Washington with the girls until he finishes the academy. So.... we are still hoping and praying that he gets hired by the Border Patrol, but we are glad that we will BOTH be here in Washington through the holidays and hopefully through the birth of our little Jalie. He is excited to start with Corrections tomorrow. It may not be his dream career but it will support our little family and give him the experience he needs for our future! Wish us luck and we will keep everyone posted!

So Jalie is only about 23-24 weeks and I got some ultrasounds done today just for fun! They tried to do the 3d but jalie's face was in the placenta hiding!! Anyways here are some cute pics and video clips!

So I haven't posted in a few weeks becuase there is nothing to talk about really. We are still stuck at my parents house and nothing has been going on! However... a few really cool things are about to happen!! JT got offered a job with King County Corrections and he starts on Tuesday the 30th! It is not his dream job but it will definately give him the experience he needs to get back into law enforcement!! So good news there and other exciting news... We are moving out!! YEAHH!!!! I am giving the deposit and first months rent today!! The whole thing with my friend totally fell through... she just quit answering my calls!! Anyways so we started looking at some places to rent and my VT and friend Stacy told me about some apartments in Kent called "mormon terrace" becuase they are managed my some members of the stake and over half the residents are members. We went and saw the place and we love it!! So we are supposed to be getting the keys on the 1st! we are so excited I cant even explain it!! I will definately be posting pictures when we get the place all set up!!

So Kenzie is getting to be such a little person! She is talking so much now... copying almost anything we say. She folds her arms when we say it's night-night time cuz she knows we are going to say prayers! Last night she was so excited that in the middle of JT's prayer she yells her AAAAAHHHH-men! While we both desperately tried to keep from laughing- JT stopped mid-sentance and said In the name of Jesus Christ Amen! it was too funny! I guess she doesn't want Daddy to be one of those long-winded prayers!

She loves shoes!! This girl will wear any shoe that is laying around... yesterday she had socks on and yet managed to put my flip-flops on and walk around in them! too cute!
We got her on video wear Oma's boots around the house. It was cracking us up!! Don't mind the fat prego lady in the background... i don't know where she came from!! And this was fairly late at night so Kenzie's hair was a bit of a disaster... she looks kinda homeless I know!!

So about a half hour after I booked our AZ plane tickets and posted my blog I recieved an Email stating that my friend Jazz would be staying in Moscow Russia for another 6 weeks and won't be home until Oct 30th! ha ha so I just changed our flights to November. I will be in town on the 2nd of November through the 16th and JT will be there the 7th through the 16th. It will be good to see my friend Jazz, Jt's family and we will also get to see JT's best friend David get married on the 15th!! so it all worked out. We will see you all in November!! love ya!
